Dr. Martens

The first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on April 1, 1960. Trademarked with its famous yellow stitch, comfortable grooved sole, and heel-loop, it was originally created as a work boot and has been adopted and subverted by rebellious individuals ever since. The simple silhouette has gone from factory floors, onto streets, music stages, fashion runways, and customized for over six decades.
Dr. Martens footwear is still made the same, from the same materials, using the same process. The only thing that is not, and never will be the same, are the people wearing them. The innovators, rebels, and freethinkers who have turned a pair of work boots into a badge of self-expression and empowerment.
